Canvas Tip – Satin Laminate
Continuing from last months newsletter on laminate coatings.
As you are now aware we offer 3 choices of laminates for your canvas print.
A laminate is applied to every canvas print after printing. The laminate is similar to a varnish and is applied with a spray, as opposed to a roller. This ensures a nice even coverage without any roller markings. Laminating your canvas is important as it adheres the ink to the canvas and protects your print from UV and abrasions.
Satin: There are three choices of laminate. The satin laminate is by far the most popular laminate we use. It suits 9/10 photos on canvas. Satin is suitable for both colour and black and white canvas prints, it lifts the colour and sharpens the blacks adding a nice sheen to your print.
Photography Tip – Photographing your kids for Mother’s day
Each year we are swamped with Dad’s bringing in images of their kids for mum for Mother’s Day. So this year we thought we would give you some tips on how to take great shots of your kids for this Mother’s Day.
Tip 1: Get down on their level.
Tip 2: If you can choose 2 locations, choose an outside location (like a park) and also choose an inside location. When you are inside, plain but bold backgrounds can work well.
Tip 3: Have them wear clothes they are comfortable in.
Tip 4: Ensure there is always lots of light.
Tip 5: Make it fun.
Keep reading each month for new tips and exciting news.
