Photo on Canvas
If you want to give a special mum a photo on canvas this mother’s day now is the perfect time to start thinking about it. Whether you have an existing photo, an old paper photograph that may be needing restoration or if you are heading out in the next couple of weekends to take that perfect shot of your kids we can make a special gift we are sure she will love.
If you plan on taking some new photos, check out our photography tip for some tips on how to take shots of your kids.
Canvas Tip – What wraps around the frame?
When you select, or take a photo for a photos on canvas, be aware of what will wrap around the frame. The most popular choice is a gallery wrap, alternatively you can have a block colour border or a mirror image.
If you want your canvas printed with a Gallery Wrap (This is where we use the existing image to wrap around the frame) you have to make sure there is enough of the image to wrap and you are not going to lose precious content around the sides. So when taking photos specifically for a photo on canvas be conscious of what will wrap around the frame and if you want a gallery wrap make sure your subject isn’t too close to the edge of the photo.
Photography Tip – Photographing Children
Tip 1: Get down on their level, hold the camera at their eye level and capture their gaze or smile
Tip 2: If you can choose 2 locations, choose an outside location (like a park) and also choose an inside location. When you are inside, plain but bold backgrounds can work well.
Tip 3: Have them wear clothes they are comfortable in
Tip 4: Ensure there is always lots of light… or you can use fill flash setting. Use this to fill the dark areas on people’s faces with light when you have shadowing from the sun
Tip 5: Make it fun
