Canvas Tip – Matt Laminate
Continuing from the last 2 newsletters on laminate coatings
As you are now aware we offer 3 choices of laminates for your canvas print.
A laminate is applied to every canvas print after printing. The laminate is similar to a varnish and is applied with a spray, as opposed to a roller. This ensures a nice even coverage without any roller markings. Laminating your canvas is important as it adheres the ink to the canvas and protects your print from UV and abrasions.
Matt: There are three choices of laminate. The Matt laminate as its name suggests, provides the necessary protection for your print without adding any sheen to your image. The matt laminate works very well for soft black and whites, earth tones and sepia’s.
Photograpy Tip – Sports Photography
In keeping with the World Cup soccer / football fever, this months photography tip is how to get the best sporting photos.
Tip 1. Sport moves fast – so leave your camera turned on.
Tip 2. Be familiar with the sport you are photographing and focus on the area you predict the action will occur. By predicting where the action will occur you have much better control over your photos as you are not swinging your camera around trying to photograph the whole field.
Tip 3. Set your digital camera to sports mode. If you don’t have a sports mode, increase your ISO (not too much) and you want a fast shutter speed to capture the action. On DSLR cameras this is best achieved by setting your camera to ‘shutter speed preference mode’ then adjust to a fast shutter speed.
