Welcome to the March Newsletter.
This is the first newsletter of the year. This year started off as a very busy year for photos on canvas, as well as our other designer products. It you are not aware, we have been busy creating designer products like our Destination Banners and Custom Eye Charts . Even as we continually get busier, we always ensure that we produce the highest quality product within our promised time frames… and with so many more people wanting their photos made into works of art, and also wanting personalised custom designer print products we are kept very busy.
We also recently attended the AIPP’s latest seminar and trade show event – Hair of the Dog 2011. The trade event is held every year as part of the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography) Brisbane seminar weekend – Hair of the Dog. We had a very successful and fun weekend with the AIPP.
Canvas is so very forgiving…
When looking for the right image to create a work of art for your wall, don’t be too critical of the quality of the image… canvas is so forgiving. I hear many people ask if an image is good enough for a canvas print… when the question should be, “is it good enough for a paper print”? The chance is that a paper print will show up too many imperfections like soft focus, blurriness, colour noise, pixilation etc.
A canvas print will often absorb many of these problems, and with a bit of clever Photoshop editing, a masterpiece can be made from that “ok” photo.
Photography Tip – Get Down low
So many good landscape shots miss the chance to be great, simply because we lift the camera to our faces and shoot.
This may capture the inspiring scenery, but from a head-height perspective that we are all unconsciously accustomed to.
Simply getting low to the ground can improve your results and make your photo stand out by having a more prominent foreground as well as a mid area and a background.
Keep reading each month for new tips and exciting news.
